The University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, is the flagship institution of higher learning in Utah. 34 student entrepreneurs admitted to Lassonde Founders program for 2023-24

The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute - a top-10 ranked division of the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah - welcomed the fourth group of Lassonde Founders for the 2023-24 academic year. Thirty-four students, including some returning to the program for the second or third year, were admitted into the residential entrepreneur program for undergraduate students. They moved into Lassonde Studios in August for the 2023-24 academic year.

47 founders enroll in the Master of Business Creation program for fall 2023

The Department of Entrepreneurship & Strategy in partnership with the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business welcomed 47 founders into the award-winning Master of Business Creation (MBC) program starting fall 2023. They will be accelerating their startup companies in this rapidly growing program with help from personalized mentoring, applied curriculum, generous scholarships, access to grants and more. Nineteen of the founders who started 18 companies are enrolling in MBC Online, a virtual, part-time option that spans three semesters. Twenty-eight of the founders who started 26 companies are enrolling in MBC Full-Time, an in-person option that spans two semesters. Some of the startups have more than one founder in the program.

Class of 2025 breaking records

While the COVID-19 pandemic has had significant impacts on college enrollment around the world, the University of Utah has consistently increased enrollment and continues its record-setting streak. For the second year in a row, the U saw its largest total enrollment in school history for the Fall 2021 Semester.

Fall 2019 Enrollment

This fall the University of Utah welcomed its most academically prepared class of first-year students. The freshman cohort for the Fall 2019 Semester includes 4,249 students boasting an impressive 3.66 average high school GPA and an average ACT composite score of 25.8.
